Real-Time Freight Tracking and Shipment Visibility

ELD & GPS telematics

Know where your freight is — without emailing for an update.

Ship Smart Solutions gives shippers real-time freight tracking through a client portal where you can follow any load by reference number, see live location, and confirm delivery. Because we’re asset-based, much of that data comes straight from ELD and GPS on trucks we operate — not a secondhand check call relayed through a broker. The result is shipment visibility you can plan around instead of guess at.

Why Owning the Trucks Makes Tracking Better

Tracking is only as good as its source. When a broker relays your status, the data is secondhand — a check call, a text, a guess. When the carrier owns the truck, the data is direct.

Relayed through a broker

Status arrives secondhand.

  • Location comes from a check call, not the equipment
  • Gaps between updates while someone reaches the driver
  • ETAs are passed along rather than owned
  • Cold-chain records depend on whoever holds the trailer
Direct from our equipment

Telematics at the source.

  • ELD and GPS on our own trucks feed location automatically
  • Fewer blind spots — no "let me call the driver and get back to you"
  • Accountable ETAs: the team reading the data is moving the freight
  • Verified cold-chain records from equipment we control

FAQ

Freight Tracking FAQs

How do I track my shipment with Ship Smart Solutions?

Log in to the client portal and enter your reference number — PO, BOL, or load number — to see live location, ETA, and delivery status. Get portal access if you don’t have a login yet.

Can I track freight by reference number?

Yes. Any shipment can be looked up by its PO, bill of lading, or load number in the client portal.

Is tracking updated in real time?

Yes. Location updates in real time from GPS and ELD data, much of it from trucks we operate directly, so ETAs reflect current position.

What is the client portal?

It’s your single login for all Ship Smart Solutions shipments — live tracking, status alerts, and self-serve documents like BOLs and PODs for active and past loads.

Can I see temperature data on reefer shipments?

Yes. On refrigerated loads, setpoint and temperature records are available for cold-chain verification. See Reefer Trucking.

Do you integrate with our TMS?

Yes. For managed and dedicated programs, shipment data can connect to your transportation management system for broader supply-chain visibility. See Managed Transportation.

How is your tracking different from a freight broker’s?

As an asset-based carrier, much of our tracking data comes directly from equipment we operate, rather than secondhand check calls relayed by a broker — which means fewer gaps and more accountable ETAs.
